HPE Heads to Aiken Feb-March 2013

If you would like to come to Aiken or send your horse for the season reserve your place asap. Spots fill quickly and you don't want to miss out. If you cannot stay for the duration but just want to come down for a week and visit with your horse, short term plans may be available on a limited basis at other local barns designed just for that. Don't hesitate to ask. I am always amazed each year how much my horses learn and develop both mentally and physically in such a short amount of time. I will jump start your horses training that you can then maintain throughout the year. For those of you who compete throughout the year and are accustom to paying hundreds of dollars in gas, hotel and stabling fees for every competition, you will be amazed at the savings. With so many competitions close by, you can get several events in for the price of one up north. If you have any questions please call or email me. All prices are listed on my website. Horses sent for Feb and March will be in my full training program that costs $1800/month. This includes 5 training sessions a week, full care and grooming and my competition fees included. Also if you are planning to come and would like to arrange shipping please let me know. If I have enough horses to ship professionally it generally costs between 3 and 500 one way depending on the amount of horses being shipped. I am very excited and lucky to be at the same facility as last year with first class amenities to enhance each horses training at Hatchaway Bridge Farms. Space is limited so reservations will be on a first come first serve basis. I require a $500 deposit to hold your spot for the 2 months, this will be taken off your March training board check. Any questions just call, text, or email me. Deposits must be paid by December 15th to secure your horses spot.

Working Student Wanted

Full or part time positions available working with Holly and Marilyn Payne, leading eventing and dressage trainers. A full time working student will divide his or her time between Holly's CVEquestrian in nearby Gladstone and Marilyn's Applewood Farm in Oldwick, NJ. The full time position offers either housing, board for one horse, or a $500 per month salary, plus wintering in Aiken with Holly. Bring your horse and spend 2-3 months at the go-to winter eventing destination! The part time position includes flexible hours and days at CV Equestrian, with compensation negotiable depending on hours worked. Other benefits of either position include lessons on schoolmasters, supervised instruction while warming up and working with young horses and horses in training, opportunities to compete in dressage and/or eventing, riding a variety of horses, participation in clinics and shows at Applewood and CVEquestrian free of charge, and working in a friendly, supportive environment. Additional income can be generated by clipping, grooming, and braiding boarders' horses. Full time position work week is six days, usually including weekends. Must have own car. Major qualifications for the job are dedication and desire to work and learn. Other valuable, but not essential, qualifications include riding ability, knowledge of longeing, and capability to handle horses of all ages. Depending on experience and ability, the job also involves exercising horses, longeing and handling young horses, warming up and cooling out, tacking and untacking, trail riding and conditioning, grooming, cleaning tack, feeding, turnout, routine barn maintenance, office and computer work, and all other aspects of barn management. s
